How To Reset Winsock – Easy step by step guide
Step 1: Lets open a command prompt in elevated mode first. You can do so by clicking on Click on Start Button > All Programs
Step 2: Navigate to ‘Accessories’ and right click on the ‘Command Prompt’ and click on ‘Run as administrator’ to open the command prompt in elevated mode.
Step 3: When the User Account Control box appears, click Yes.
Step 4: To reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults type the following: netsh winsock reset catalog
Next press the Enter/Return key on your keyboard to execute it.
Upon successful execution you should see a similar output.
To reset TCP/IP stack to default enter the following command: netsh int ip reset all
Upon successful execution you should see a similar output in the command prompt.
Step 5: You’ll then need to restart your computer.
